PDF to Word

Turn a PDF into a Word document you can edit. Scanned PDFs are read with text recognition.

How to convert a PDF to Word

  1. Drop your PDF onto the box above, or click it to choose it.
  2. If the PDF is a scan or photo of paper, pick the language of the text so it can be recognized.
  3. Click “Convert to Word”. The .docx file downloads, ready to edit in Word, Google Docs, Pages, or LibreOffice.

Everything happens in this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, and closing the tab clears it all.

Questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The conversion happens in your browser, on your device. Your document is never sent to a server.

Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?

The text, paragraphs, and headings come across so you can edit them easily. Complex layouts such as columns, tables, and exact positions are simplified, and pictures are not copied. For an exact copy of how a page looks, use PDF to JPG.

What about scanned PDFs?

Pages without selectable text are read with text recognition (OCR) in the language you choose. Clear, straight scans give the best results; check names and numbers afterwards.
