Add page numbers

Number the pages of a PDF, with your choice of position, style, and starting number.

How to add page numbers to a PDF

  1. Drop your PDF onto the box above, or click it to choose it.
  2. Pick where the numbers go, their style (“1”, “Page 1”, “1 of 10”…), size, and the number to start from.
  3. Optionally skip the first page, for example a cover page.
  4. Click “Add page numbers”. The numbered PDF downloads straight away.

Everything happens in this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, and closing the tab clears it all.

Questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The numbers are added in your browser, on your device. Your document is never sent anywhere.

Will the numbers cover my content?

They sit in the margin, a short distance from the page edge. If your pages have content right at the edge, choose a smaller size or another position.

Can I start numbering at a page other than 1?

Yes. Set “Start at” to any number, for example 5 if the PDF continues another document. Skipping the first page leaves the cover unnumbered and starts counting on page two.
